Espe­cially in skyr­unning – in other words, vertical mountain running – where sometimes only a few seconds can make the difference between victory and defeat. The new CITUX runner offers the best features for achieving success: the grippy rubber outsole provides optimal traction. The combination with the CLOSE-TO-THE-GROUND tech­nology makes the shoe partic­ularly responsive, while its low weight increases flex­ibility. Direct energy return and the carbon-rein­forced BI-Density midsole guarantee the best control possible. The new LOWA® TRAC® sole system ensures quick respons­iveness and optimal push-off. The carbon rein­forcement integrated into the sole minimises energy loss and inhibits sharp objects from penet­rating the sole. For optimal protection, the upper is rein­forced with the laminated REPTEX® SPORT PU coating which makes the shoe much more durable. A light-weight, seam­lessly engineered tongue provides a unique combination of comfort and breath­ability. The amount of padding is reduced to a minimum to ensure the best breath­ability possible.

CLOSE TO THE GROUND For direct contact with the ground

People who venture across Alpine terrain face many chal­lenges. Fields of loose rocks, rocky outcrops and rough terrain place the highest demands on footwear. For this reason, LOWA uses the tech­no­logies of CLOSE TO THE GROUND in the CITUX to create a good feel on the surface. The sole is designed in such a way that the distance to the ground is kept to a bare minimum. The height minim­isation throughout the entire shoe creates a natural feel during chal­lenging tours and provides stable footing on uneven terrain.

The acronym “EVA” stands for “ethylene-vinyl acetate”. It corresponds to an elast­omeric polymer that is used to make plastic materials. The EVA material creates soft and flexible qualities. It is primarily used in the production of shoe and shoe midsoles to provide step cush­ioning. Various degrees of rigidity can be achieved on the basis of the thickness employed.

Mesh

Mesh is a material that consists of many evenly spaced holes. It is usually made of polyester or nylon and basically a lattice-like material that is created by interwoven threads. Thanks to its special design, the man-made fibre is partic­ularly permeable to air, has special moisture-regu­lating qualities and is easy to care for, breathable and crease-resistant.
