But just what is a microadventure anyway?
Everybody is talking about microadventures these days. When we use the word, we are talking about small, frequently spontaneous excursions that you do by yourself, as a twosome or with your entire family as part of your everyday activities or outside in nearby natural surroundings. Your fantasy knows no limits!
These adventures have little to do with the planning associated with long or multi-day tours. Rather, the whole idea is to keep things as simple as possible and head off by yourself on low-cost excursions that will take you to nearby destinations. There are no rules or requirements that have to be followed or met – the aim is to keep things as simple as possible, and, naturally, the whole thing has to be done with one thought in mind: #leavenotrace – you have to leave everything as it was when you arrived!
Microadventures are a great way to get away from the daily grind for a while and enjoy an adventure – without travelling great distances, buying expensive gear or spending weeks learning about your next destination. The idea behind a microadventure is something else: to keep things simple, to basically act on the spur of the moment and to try something new for a change.
It may be simply nothing more than breaking out of a rut, right here, right now.
We do not have the answer either and are just simply excited about the opportunity. The reason really does not matter very much.
